After a long battle with his health, he was able to let go and find peace with his family on the other side.
Mike was born and raised on the east side of Bridgeport CT, where he lived most of his life. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the late 1950's on the USS Ticonderoga. After his service to his country he returned home to join the Bridgeport Police Department where he retired as Lieutenant after 32 years on the force.
Everyone that knew him would describe him in the same way, as a good man.….and he absolutely was. If you knew him, you just simply adored him. He loved unconditionally and always made sure everyone was taken care of. If you asked him for it, he gave it to you. If you needed help, in whatever way, he was there for you. He has touched the lives of so many people who in turn, have nothing but love and respect for him.
He is predeceased by his first wife, JoanAnn DeCarlo, his parents Anthony & Thelma DeCarlo, and 3 of his brothers Tony DeCarlo, Joe DeCarlo and John DeCarlo. He leaves behind one brother, children, grandchildren, a new great grandson that he had yet to meet, and many other family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Please join us in honoring him at a Memorial Service being held on Monday, July 20, 2020, 5:00 - 8:00pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468.
