Wanda graduated a Snyder Cyclone in 1949. In high school she enjoyed playing on the half court women's basketball team as well as being a cheerleader.
After high school she moved to Grand Prairie, Tx and began working for Ling Temco Vought (LTV). A friend set her up with Larry Lewis and they were later married on March 3, 1951. They celebrated 45 years of marriage and raised 3 daughters. Wanda became a stay at home mom and loved to bake. She was an expert pie maker and sugar queen.
Wanda loved the Lord. She was a charter member of Freetown Road Church of Christ and was very involved in many areas of the church. She was part of the church bereavement group and taught Sunday School.
Wanda was an avid Dallas Mavericks fan and never missed watching her favorite player, Dirk Nowitzki. She enjoyed spending time hanging out with her friends and her neighborhood was very special to her.. She was funny, friendly and always smiling.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; and her 5 siblings.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Wilkerson (Steve), Patti Seeker (John) and Carol Lewis; grandchildren, Holly Russo (Chris), Jordan Gough (Sylvia), Charles Gough, Gwynavier Gough, Maedelyn Gough, Zak Seeker, Peyton Seeker, Caitlin Carpenter (Michael) and Cal Balmos (Cassie); and great grandchildren, Boston and Bristol Balmos and Cash Carpenter.
A graveside service for Wanda Mae will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 11:00 AM at Old Southland Cemetery, 800 S.W. 3rd Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75051.
