Dave was born July 3rd, 1922, in Portland, Oregon to William Crawford and Winifred Louise Graham. Dave met his wife, Adarene Fisk, while attending Oregon State University (Phi Gamma Delta-Figi) and together they committed their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Relocating to Phoenix, AZ, Dave taught 7th and 8th grade science at Squaw Peak Elementary School until retirement. Dave and Adarene were dedicated members of Palmcroft Baptist Church since arrival in Phoenix in 1951. Dave loved sports. He coached both Women’s West High and Palmcroft Women’s softball teams, bowled with a league, and avidly attended SUNS, ASU, and Oregon State University sports.
Dave will be remembered for his friendship, care, generosity, devotion, and his love for family and friends. His warmth, joy, and respect for others drew constant visitors, callers, and prayer warriors, unwilling to say good-bye even after so many rich years. Until he left us, he joked, laughed, and inquired after the well-being of everyone around him. We picture him, turning at the threshold of eternity lavishly offering us his sweet smile and signature, “thumbs up”.
Dave leaves behind son, Dr. Jeff (and Teri) Graham, daughters: Jan Graham, Joyce Graham, grandchildren: Sharon (and David) Blackburn, Kevin (and Breanna) Betts, Bryan (and Wendy) Betts, Jeff (and Hezel) Graham, Darin (and Jenny) Betts, Christie (and Greg) Coltvet, 14 great grandchildren, nephew, William Graham (son Dave’s older brother, Crawford “Scram” Graham), and countless friends.
A celebration for Dave is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., September 19th at the Palmcroft Church Sanctuary, 15825 N 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85053
