Frances Ellen Ewart passed away on July 27, 2020 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born in Halletsville, Texas on May 27, 1926 to Edward William Fabian and Sarah Ellen Turner. Frances was the oldest of five children.
Frances was living and working in Rockport, Texas when she met Arnold Ewart, who was serving his country in the United States Navy during World War II. During this time she married Arnold and celebrated a life of sixty-six years together.
After the war, Arnold and Frances moved to Houston where he was employed by Humble Oil/Exxon for over forty years. Frances was a homemaker; worked for Sears and worked as a bookkeeper for a small oil company. While raising her three children she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Frances was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Houston for many years. She sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School. The family was always proud of her beautiful voice. After Arnold retired, they moved from 346 Kress in Houston and joined First Baptist Church of Rosenberg. Arnold and Frances traveled with The Texas Baptist Men’s Organization for many years building churches. Frances and the ladies would visit in the community and help prepare the noon meals from their travel trailers.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Arnold Ewart, son Gary Wayne Ewart and son-in-law Bob Thompson.
Frances is survived by her sister Charlene Kern and husband Ken; daughter Kathy Thompson, daughter Linda Goodwin and husband Henry; daughter-in-law Anita Rabon and husband Mitch; grandchildren Stacy Knapp and husband Brandon, Bryan David Goodwin and wife Carrie, Mary Carruth, John David Ewart, J. Michael Goodwin and wife Laurie; great-grandchildren Lily Goodwin, Robert Goodwin, Emily Carruth and J. Michael Goodwin Jr.
Frances was very proud of her family and will greatly be missed.
