Karol John Harla, age 80, of Cameron Park and Coulterville, California passed away unexpectedly July 23, 2020. He was born to the late John and Stella (Kloc) Harla in Chicago, Illinois on November 22, 1939. They moved to California in 1940. After graduating high school, Karol served in the United States Navy. After his military service, he began working for Pacific Bell in Los Angeles, California—Karol would eventually retire from Pacific Bell after a rewarding 30-year career in their Communications Department as a Troubleshooter.
Karol was marred to his wife Ann for 45 years until her death in 2015. They owned a home in Coulterville, California where he volunteered at the Mariposa History Museum next door to their home.
Karol was an excellent woodworker and loved to garden at both of his homes. He was an avid reader and loved to travel with his wife Ann.
He is survived by his loving sister, Loretta J. Smith; five nieces and nephews that were extremely close to him in California, and many close friends he considered family.
A celebration honoring the life and legacy of Karol is being conducted by the family privately.
