Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas, and will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 am at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Shiner City Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The family will greet friends and guest beginning from 5:00 pm. Until 7:00 pm
Karen was born on September 16, 1941 in Orange Grove, Texas. She was the daughter of Norman A. and Martha (Burell) Wundt. Karen married Alvin Franklin Cook on April 4, 1964 at Belmont Methodist Church in Belmont, Texas. Karen was the President of the “RV” group that she and Frank were members of. She liked to sewing drapes and decorating the home. She loved attending Bible Study and reading the Bible. Karen liked to decorate cakes and cookies.
Karen is survived by one son; Douglas Alan Cook and his wife, Melissa Hoogendam of Houston, Texas, one daughter; Sherri Escalante White and her husband, Hutch of Buda, Texas, two grandsons; Stuart Cook of Houston, Texas, David Cook of Houston, Texas, three granddaughters; Lindsay Escalante of Austin, Texas, Zoe Escalante of Austin, Texas, Caroline Cook of Houston, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Norman A. and Martha Wundt, and her loving husband of 50 years, Frank Cook,
Pallbearers for Mrs. Cook will be; Stuart Cook, David Cook, Hutch White, Douglas Cook, Kyle Wundt, and Rutty Deque.
