George Ellis Parker, Jr., 53 of Grandview, Mo died suddenly September 21, 2020. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, followed by Military Honors. Our gathering will begin at 1:00 pm. The service will be Livestreamed on Facebook and CVID-19 protocol will be followed.
George was born April 9, 1967 in Osceola, AR to George Ellis and Mable (Robinson) Parker. He attended University of Arkansas before joining the US Air Force, where he served all around the globe for nine years, including tours in Desert Storm and Panama. Returning from the service, he went into security work for several companies and later worked at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and the US Postal Service. He married the former Matina Clark. George was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, cooking, BBQ/grilling, sports (specifically Razorback football and football in general), music and rides to the lake. During his time in the military, he often played dominoes, had weight lifting contests, and participated in car races with his friends. He was a loving husband and father, but the one that put the sparkle in his eyes was his grandson, Kane. He was very close to his family and friends and loved spending time with everyone.
George was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Chris Parker, earlier this year.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Matina; son, Sherrick Clark; daughter, Mari Parker; brothers, Bruce Parker (Margie), Kevin Parker (Rita), and Gary Parker (Minnie); two sisters, Adrienne Parker-Pugh (Terrell) and Audrey Parker; sister-in–law, Marquita Parker; his beloved grandson, Kane Clark; his grandma and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
