Everton Garthwait, 92, of Valrico, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2020. He was home with his son Edward and his wife, daughter Susan, and granddaughter Katie. Everton was born June 15, 1928 in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara of 64 years; brothers, Walter and Alfred; and sister, Genevieve. He is survived by his son, Edward and wife Esperanza; daughter, Susan and husband Guy; seven grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; niece, Linda Langlais and husband Guy; nephew Todd Garthwait and wife Kim; and niece Judy Baker and husband Richard.
Everton was a man that was easily loved and admired by everyone that knew him. He will be remembered for being a good friend, a hard worker, and an amazing father and papa.
Everton was always ready with a helping hand and a kind word. He was full of good ideas to help make life better for all those around him. He amazed his family with his zest for life and inspired others to do the same. His children, grandchildren, friends, and family are blessed for having known him.
A funeral service will take place at 2pm on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511; family will receive guests at 1pm.
