(nee Bullen)
Died on October 10, 2020, following a stroke in August. Nan and her sister Margaret were born on October 1, 1927 in Rathwell, Manitoba to Walter and Mae Bullen, and adventurous English couple who came to Canada to pursue their dream of owning a farm. Though the family’s circumstances were less than modest, growing up on the farm was an idyllic life for Nan, and it provided her with many happy memories. Competent and energetic, she was curious, deeply appreciative of the natural world, a sports fan, and a true egalitarian. She will be remembered for her many kindnesses to people.
She is survived by children Kerry, Colleen (Jim) and Tim; grandchildren Daniel (Maryana), Jesse, Kiernan, Samantha (Terry) and Brennan; great grandchildren Ryder, Ashton and Sophia as well as sister Margaret and brothers Bob and Norman.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lions Manor Personal Care Home for the outstanding care they provided to Nan. A wonderful mix of compassion, humour and professionalism contributed greatly to her quality of life there.
A service will be held at a later date. Thomson funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Wildlife Fund Canada. (wwf.ca).
