On December 29, 2020, Debra "Debbie" Rose Joseph Trent, devoted wife to Thomas "Tom" Trent and daughter of the late Nick and Frances Joseph, passed away at the Earl B Hadlow Hospice Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She was 59 years old.
Debbie was born November 26, 1961 in Jacksonville, Florida, and was a proud lifelong First Coast resident. She graduated from Episcopal High School in 1979, attended Florida Southern College, where she was in the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of the Kappa Delta Sorority, and graduated from the University of Florida School of Business. She loved being a Gator, and was particularly proud to make the Lady Gators golf team, having grown up immersed in the sport with her two golf-loving parents.
Debbie was a member of St Paul's Episcopal Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved playing the guitar and piano at church and at home, often accompanying her extended family in their annual Christmas Eve carol singalong. She worked in wholesale food sales for many years alongside her father and uncles at their family-owned business, Joseph’s Imported Foods; and later, with CP Foodservice. She was also employed at Berean Christian Store, servicing over 200 churches with their Sunday School materials.
Debra is survived by her beloved husband, Tom, who she was married to for 32 years. Debbie loved spending time with family and friends, and traveling with Tom. One of her greatest joys was playing with their beloved nine-year old white American Eskimo dog, Poppoose. She is survived by many adoring cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews. Debbie will be missed beyond compare by all who were lucky enough to know her.
In Lieu of flower, please make donations out to Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257 (Community Hospice), in Debra's name.
