Bob lived a full life. He was born in Bronxville, NY, moved to Terra Haute Indiana as a young boy and to Nashville as a teenager. He attended Mercersburg Academy, Princeton University, and University of Virginia Law School. While at Princeton and the University of Virginia, he was involved in ROTC and was deployed to the Army at Fort Riley Kansas for two years. Upon honorable discharge as a captain from the Army, he moved back to Nashville where he started a career with Genesco. After several years there, he joined Hospital Affiliates International and began a long successful career in healthcare management. He was the founding CEO of two start up healthcare companies, American Healthcorp and Home Technology Healthcare. At various times in his career, he was a board member of many organizations including Cracker Barrell Old Country Stores, the Salvation Army, and Harpeth Hall school.
Although a world traveler with over 50 countries and 6 continents visited, Bob was happiest sharing his Virginia home, “The Stone House” with family and friends. He will be missed by family and many long time friends. He was known for being smart, driven, an avid reader, and having a strong positive influence on those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army or to the Cowpasture River Preservation Association.
The graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Sunday, April 11. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held when the pandemic restrictions have lifted. Condolences may be offered by visiting www.mountolivet.com.
