Millinocket and Brownville Junction - Kyle Corcoran, 38, of Brownville Junction and Millinocket, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Millinocket on April 15, 2021. He was born on September 20, 1982, in Millinocket, Maine, the son of Daniel J. Corcoran and Sharon E. Roberts Corcoran.
Kyle spent his first 16 years growing up in Brownville Junction, Maine; a place he dearly loved and where he had many friends. Kyle and next door neighbor, Cory Ladd, were inseparable growing up and remained life-long best friends. Kyle attended Saint Francis Catholic church in Brownville Junction, where he also served as an alter boy. He attended school in Brownville and Milo until the family moved to Millinocket in 1998. Kyle graduated from Stearns High School in Millinocket, class of 2000. Kyle then attended the University of Maine in Orono.
Kyle loved the outdoors and everything about Maine and the Maine Woods. Kyle was not a city person and he loved living in a small town in Maine. He worked for many years as a whitewater rafting guide on the west branch of the Penobscot and Kennebec Rivers in Maine, and several more years as a rafting guide in California. Upon returning to Maine, Kyle got his real estate broker's license and worked with his dad at North Woods Real Estate in Millinocket, and he also worked at the Hannaford Supermarket in Millinocket.
While working in California, Kyle met Erin Brennan. Erin and Kyle have one daughter, Matilda, who is Kyle's greatest joy in life. Kyle loved playing the guitar and singing and he recently purchased a guitar for Matilda. Kyle had a gentle, kind and giving nature about him. He loved kids and animals and they were quickly drawn close to him. Kyle was a generous person, always giving of himself in many ways. He could always be counted on to help out when needed.
Kyle is survived by Erin Brennan; daughter, Matilda; mother, Sharon E. Roberts Corcoran; father, Daniel Corcoran; stepmother, Jean McLean-Corcoran; a sister, Kriston Corcoran; sister, Joleen Corcoran-Theran and her husband, Sean Theran; brother, Sean Corcoran; stepbrother, Jeffery McLean; stepbrother, Bruce McLean; stepsister, Julee McLean; stepsister, Lisa Henaghen and husband, Thomas Henaghen; best friend, Cory Ladd; a nephew, Daniel Corcoran; two nieces, Cora Theran and Abby Theran; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021, at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Catholic Church, Old Town. Committal prayers and interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Millinocket Cemetery. Due to the pandemic, CDC guidelines must be followed, and space at the church will be limited. Service will be livestreamed on the Facebook page for the church.
