Born December 11, 1930 in Pekin to James Lang and Eva Viola (Peplow) Bowman, Sr., she married Richard George Kumpf on December 3, 1950 in Pekin.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years; three daughters, Cindy (Charles) Johnson of Loudon, Tennessee, Becky (Brad) VonDerHeide of Pekin and Connie (Paul) Eames of South Berwick, Maine; seven grandchildren, Penny (Stephen) Wilkinson, Tanya (Scott) Hoskins, Jenny (Justin) Yancey, Elizabeth (Brad) Zimmerman, Jim Conway, Jason (Sara) Eames and Richard (Jodi) Eames; 14 great-grandchildren and one brother, Darrell Bowman of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronnie Bowman and James Bowman, Jr.
A homemaker, Bobbie had worked at Farmers Auto Insurance from 1948 to 1951.
A God loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Bobbie enjoyed family times, crafting, cooking and making floral arrangements and mints for her grandchildren’s weddings.
Bobbie was a member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene and was a former member of Pekin Bible Church. There she had served as Sunday School Superintendent, past president of Mary Martha Circle and assistant Youth Leader.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
