Joy graduated from Central High School in 1982. Joy was an avid swimmer and received many recognitions for her accomplishments. She married the love of her life on April 7,1984 whom she spent 37 unforgettable years with. They welcomed a son on April 27, 1985 and a daughter on December 7, 1988, respectively, whom she unconditionally loved with her entire being.
Joy's Celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Leon White officiating. Joy's friends and family will visit at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 18, 2021. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial provider.
Joy was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen. She liked trying new recipes and she was always ready to explore different restaurants with her husband, Reggie. She loved to travel,,
and camp, she loved going to the beach with her grandbabies, sitting on her patio and admiring her day lilies when in bloom and palm trees Reggie planted just so Joy could feel closer to the beach.Most of all she loved spending time with her 4 grandchildren, Nathan, Brinlee, Amberli and Caraleigh. Joy had a deep relationship with God and was a very spiritual woman who will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her. Joy will be remembered for her kind ,sweet spirit and love for everyone she met.
Joy is survived by her husband Reggie Smith, son, Brant Smith (Stephanie), daughter, Megan Poole (Robert), sister, Hope Holemon (Jeff)brother, Frank Mann. III(Vicki) mother, Faith Qualls, grandchildren, Nathan Barron, Brinlee Poole, Amberli Poole and Caraleigh "Joy" Poole. She is preceded in death by father, Frank Mann and stepfather Jim Qualls.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Barron, Jeff Holemon, Craig Patterson, Robert Poole, Justin Smith, Rodney Smith and Barry Standifer.
