Born December 24, 1942 in Eureka to Walter A. and Kathryn M. (Klopfenstein) Mette, she married Ronald E. Kinsey on January 8, 1960 in Pekin. She later married David E. Hudson on May 31, 1986 in Pekin. He died May 12, 2003 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Joshua Thompson; one step-son, David Eugene “Skip” Hudson, Jr. and one sister, Shirley Dunn.
Surviving are one son, Douglas Kinsey of Vero Beach, Florida; three daughters, Shelley (Kenney) Christman of Vero Beach, Florida, Crystal (Oscar) Scott of Ocoee, Florida and Tammy (Paul) Taylor of Vero Beach, Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Karen formerly worked at Pekin Moose Family Center 916 and had been self-employed with MI Assisted Software of Illinois. She previously had worked for J.C. Penney’s for 15 years as a clerk and as a receptionist for Dr. Witt in Pekin.
She was a life member of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673. She was of the Methodist faith.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor James C. McClarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
The family will be gathering at the Moose Lodge after the burial from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Food will be provided.
