He went on to attend Bellarmine University through an athletic scholarship and obtained a degree in Chemistry. Leo later continued his education at the University of Louisville, obtaining a Master’s degree in Business in 1981. Leo began working for Early Times Distillery in 1960 in the laboratory. He worked his way up to supervisor, plant manager and in 1990, Vice President. After forty-four years at Brown-Forman, Leo retired in 2004
After his retirement from BF, his love of golf led him to working at Golf Galaxy. He was an avid fan of both University of Louisville and Cincinnati Reds. He rarely ever missed a game and you could often finding him “cheering on” the Cardinals at home baseball games. Leo loved being surrounded by his family especially his grandchildren. He spent the last few years being a chauffeur to his youngest grandchildren which he loved. His hard work ethic, contagious smile along with his hugs will go unmatched. He will be forever missed by everyone who loved him.
