Claire was predeceased by her husband, Lewis K. Baldwin in 2006. He was a former coach and athletic director at Lincoln Sudbury High School for many years.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts in 1926, she was the second oldest of six children born to Henry and May Conway. She had fond childhood memories of going to school and growing up in Medford with many friends and family. She always loved playing games with the gang, especially dodgeball and tennis. She met her future husband there.
Claire and Lew resided most of their years together in Massachusetts but also lived in Wells, Maine in their earlier years. Both loved to be near the ocean. Many vacations were spent visiting Maine and enjoying seeing the familiar sights.
Claire loved to work in the garden whenever she could and enjoyed designing different areas of interest with a variety of flowers and plantings. She always had a project going on.
Education was always very important to her and she would continue to study and learn about a variety of subjects, always encouraging others to keep learning. Often times, she would cut articles out of newspapers and magazines that she thought might be of interest or help to someone.
Claire was previously employed at Regis College as a clerical and postal worker. She also worked a variety of bookkeeping and receptionist positions over the years. She loved to work and stay busy. She also enjoyed driving and kept her license current to the present day.
Claire will be missed by her three children Diane, Scott and Kevin and his wife Karen along with their three children Amanda, Nicholas and Emily who will miss their Nana. Claire loved her grandchildren a bunch!
Claire will be lovingly remembered by her two surviving sisters, Nancy and Laurie, her brother-in-law Jim, sister-in-law Kay, along with Claire’s many nieces, nephews and friends scattered all across the country from New England to the West Coast.
Family was very important to Claire. There were many fun reunions over the years, bringing everyone together to play games (and yes, even cheat at times), eat ice cream and connect with each other. She was always interested in what everyone was doing and constantly wanted updates. Claire really wanted to hear all the family news.
