Nicholas L. Marino, age 78 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on September 24, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Leonard Marino and Helen (Proto) Marino on December 18, 1938. While growing up in Brooklyn, he met his late wife of 35 years, Frances (Trentacosti) Marino. In 1967, he moved his young family to the Westerleigh section of Staten Island.
In his early years, he was the proprietor of a 7up beverage route. Upon his retirement, he went on to work another 25 years as a project manager for Trio Asbestos Corp, where he retired in 2015 at the age of 76.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved vacationing with his family in the Outerbanks, North Carolina. He also enjoyed collecting baseball memorabilia, coins and watching classic movies. He was an outstanding father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend that will forever be treasured in our hearts.
Nicholas is survived by his three loving children: his son Leonard Marino and wife Michelle, his daughter Elaina Tollevsen and husband Roy and his son Salvatore Marino and wife Joanne. He was adored by his five grandchildren: Nicole and Daniella Tollevsen; Siena Marino; and Christian and Justin Marino. He is also survived by his brother Peter Marino, niece Elena Marino and sister in law Cyra Simone.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, September 29 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island New York 10314. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 30 at 9:30 am at the Church of St. Teresa, 1634 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island New York 10314.
