Holdyn Kash Godwin, age 6, of Myakka City, Florida passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Kash was born Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Bradenton, FL to Erica Lynn Douglas and Bucklin "Bucky" Everett Godwin.
Kash enjoyed playing soccer and football for the Myakka Family Worship Center Upward Sports and riding go-karts. Kash loved the outdoors as you could often find him outside learning new things, hunting, fishing, or just playing outside. Spending time with family was important to Kash as he played in the yard with his bubba, Cason, snuggling with his mama, or mullet fishing or cutting swamp cabbage with his daddy.
Kash is survived by his father, Bucklin "Bucky" Everett Godwin; two brothers, Cason Godwin and Justin Kirschbaum; two sisters, Halie Godwin and Makenzie Godwin; step brother, Parker Lawson and step sister, Melissa Peterson; maternal grandparents, Rick and Cheri Douglas; paternal grandparents, Ira Lee "Buck" Jr. and Velma Lee DeSear Godwin; aunts and uncles, RJ Douglas, Mike and Rene Jones, Bush and Susanne Teuton, Mark and Norina South, Matt and Kim Godwin.
Kash was preceded in death by his mother, Erica Lynn Douglas; step brother, Dakoda (Cody) Michael Schopfer; and uncle, William Lawrence Godwin.
A visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life for Kash and his mother, Erica, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Myakka Family Worship Center with burial to follow at the Old Miakka Cemetery. Pastor Lynn Howell will officiate the services.
