She was an amazingly active woman who accomplished much in life. After having polio at the tender age of 10, she went on to marry, have a family, return to school, become a teacher and travel extensively all over the world. She became a Baha’I in her mid-20’s and, with her husband Vern, homefront pioneered in Victoville, California, Medford, Oregon, Talent, Oregon and Jackson County. They helped form Local Spiritual Assemblies in each community as well as serving on State-wide committees which supported growth and education of the Faith and it’s followers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Harvey Surratt. She is survivied by her sister, Ginger McCoy, her daughters Helene Woosley and Erin Young, her son-in-law Guy Young and her grandchildren and their families; Erin Brains, Samwise Crow, Amanda Killen, Andrew Parmelee, Travis Young and Sam Young.
In light of Covid, the massive fires and the scattered family we will be having the memorial by ZOOM, so hopefully many can attend that otherwise could not. The service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1 PM PST. Meeting number 258 123 6286. Password 123456.
