He was born July 14, 1951 in Waynesburg, a son of the late John P. and Helen B. Yurick Nardis.
John was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
John was a retired coal miner, having worked for 20 years at Gateway Coal Company and he then had worked for 20 years at Joy Mining Equipment Company.
He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post #954, Jefferson, and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
On May 27, 1977 he married Sylvia Biscan, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Donald “Two Punch” Nardis of Jefferson and Ronald (Kay) Nardis of Washington; and a cousin, Ben (Shawna) Catalano.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P.
