Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland.
She was born on December 18, 1932, to the late Leon Dent Blackwell and Etta Rae Griffith Blackwell in Scott County, Mississippi. Mary was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Richland. She loved to read her bible and watch sermons and gospels on the television. Mary loved being outdoors, especially sitting on the porch enjoying the fresh air. A natural caretaker, she tended to her sister, Nelly Lamb, until her passing in 2001 as well as their mother until her passing in 2006.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leon Dent Blackwell and Etta Rae Griffith Blackwell; her siblings, Nelly Lamb, Earline Bounds, Evee Jordan, Naedene Dickerson, and D.W. Blackwell; and former husband, James Evans.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Diane Manning; son, Robert Dale Evans; grandchildren, Patricia Hancock and Charles Manning, Jr. (Kathy Taylor); and brother, Johnny Blackwell.
Mary will be deeply missed by everyone.
