Veronica A. (Clark) Whalen, age 94, of North Providence, formerly of Fall River, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late William S. Whalen Sr.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. Clark Jr. and Mary V. (Murphy) Clark. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1944, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.
In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed her time volunteering for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. An avid gardener, she loved flowers, needlepoint, poetry, dancing and most of all singing.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy J.Messier and her husband Charles of North Scituate, RI; two sons, William S. Whalen Jr. of Cumberland, RI, Clifford J. Whalen and his wife Christine of Tiverton, RI; three grandchildren, Benjamin Whalen, Melanie Tomaz, Shaun Whalen and five great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Clifford J. Whalen Jr.
