À Montréal, le 19 février 2019, à l'âge de 93 ans, est décédé Don DeBlois. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Liliane Bourbeau, ses enfants Marc (Pascale) et Paul (Marie), ses petits-enfants Chloé et Mathieu ainsi que plusieurs parents et amis.
Don a travaillé pendant plusieurs années au Musée national du Canada (devenu Musée canadien de l'histoire) à titre de linguiste et d'ethnologue. Il a œuvré particulièrement pour la communauté Mi'kmaq de Restigouche, qui lui tenait tellement à cœur, et pour laquelle il a rédigé un dictionnaire anglais-mi'kmaq.
La famille recevra vos condoléances le vendredi 1er mars 2019 de 17 h à 21 h au Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525, chemin Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, H3V 1E7.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don DeBlois on February 19, 2019, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Liliane Bourbeau, cherished father of Marc (Pascale) and Paul (Marie), devoted grandfather of Chloé and Mathieu. He will be deeply missed by his relatives and friends.
Don worked for several years at the National Museum of Canada (now the Canadian Museum of History) as a linguist and ethnologist. He was a friend of the Mi'kmaq community of Restigouche, passionate about their language, and the author of an English-Mi'kmaq dictionary.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, March 1st from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525, chemin Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, H3V 1E7.
