March 8, 1927 – February 13, 2021 OKLAHOMA CITY Arthur Willis Pace was born to Annie Bell (LeRoy) and Albert A. Pace in Rogers, AR. He married his love, Betty Sue Pace on August 3rd, 1951 in Bartlesville, OK, which he is reunited with now in heaven. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, loved ones and friends.
Art loved travelling to the far parts of the world exploring new sights and meeting people from other cultures with his beloved wife, his choice companion for travel and for life. They traveled to India, Finland, Hong Kong, Egypt, Nepal and many other places. Though a quiet natured man, Art endlessly supported his fun-loving wife in all the parties, events and shenanigans. They sponsored and taught many teen groups at their church, many wanted to stay in their group instead of graduating out of the class to move on.
To the end, Art was the ultimate gentleman, always looking out for the ladies and opening doors and closing them behind. He loved and enjoyed being with family, his or other’s families, and interacting with all the children. He once wrote about his wife’s singing, “Makes a person think how good it’s going to be in Heaven when your Uncle Art will be able to stay on tune and sing with you.”
Art served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged December 6, 1946. He served as a Supply clerk in Okinawa, Japan and certified in M-1 Rifle, received Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
His love of family brought him to work in the family Cleaners business, then opening his own storefront cleaning business. He later worked for the City of Tulsa as a Mechanical Journeyman, Plumbing Journeyman and Engineer Steam specialist, and then became the Stationary Engineer Supervisor.
