in his home on Thursday February 11, 2021 in Lakeside, CA. He was born August 31,
1951 in Rifle Colorado. He joined the United States Marine Corps October 1968, served
in Vietnam from December 1969 thru April 1971, and was honorably discharged
February 1972. During his time in the Military, he was awarded the National Defense
Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2-Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device,
Combat Action Ribbon and Rifle Marksman Badge. After being discharged from the
military, Dale did truck driving. Initially long haul, but then ended up staying local
delivering gasoline up the California coast. He had to stop truck driving because of his
knees, as he spent too many years jumping out of those cabins instead of using the
steps; you know, to save a few moments. After truck driving he went through retraining
and landed a job at Rexel ESD, an electrical supply distributor. He started in the
warehouse and eventually worked his way up to inside sales, until he retired in 2016
after 19+ years of employment. After retirement, he volunteered for the El Cajon Police
department until his diagnosis of cancer in January 2020. He was married to Carol
Lawrence from 1980-2019. He is survived by his five children: Christine Gonzales, Mike
Lawrence, Chad Lawrence, Jered Lawrence, and Noel Hackett; with a total of nine
grandchildren. He has 10 nieces and nephews from his four siblings: Nora Lake,
George Lawrence, Frank Lawrence, and Cathy Peppin. Dale was preceded in death by
his parents George Lewis Lawrence (11/1977), and Lois June Lawrence (12/1986), as
well as his sister Nora Lake (12/2020). He will be greatly missed by all. But always
remember, this is not goodbye, rather, until we meet again. We Love You!
