Peggy loved her family protectively. She loved Socializing and visiting with her family and friends. She loved playing basketball while in Westlake High School with her team going to State Finals in 1946/47 where she played guard. For years Peggy was a Blue Bird and Campfire Leader in Westlake. She also liked to read. She had a very strong personality, was a wonderful care taker to her husband, was very independent, and had a good sense of humor.
She is Preceded in death by her parents; husband, of 66 years Alfred Geroge “Cotton” Schwarzer; siblings, Billy Bane "Hotshot" Smith and Bobbie Hardey.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughter, Lavona Areno and husband Jerry of Ragley, LA; son, Rod Schwarzer and wife Melanie of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Kari Kellogg (Brad), Rene Fontenot (Jamie), Alex Schwarzer (Jessica), Zach Schwarzer (Kayla), Madeleine Kate "Katiebug" Schwarzer; eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 6, 2021 at First Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until 2014. Rev. Terry Bushnell and Rev. David Brewer will officiate at 4pm.
