Marilyn was born on April 2, 1936 in Kansas City, MO to Fred T. & Mary E. Wolverton.
She learned to play sports with her older brothers, was on the school softball team, and later played on an adult softball league. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1954. After graduating high school, she worked as a clerk at Dean Rubber Co. and Cook’s Paint, both in North Kansas City, MO.
Marilyn married Victor Lowe in 1960. They raised four children and celebrated their 61st Anniversary in January of 2021.
Marilyn was a generous, outgoing, fun-loving, and witty wife, mother, and friend who loved outdoor activities such as camping and fishing. She belonged to the local archery club, where she competed in tournaments, and enjoyed bow-fishing. She was also an avid bowler, and part of a bowling league for several years. Marilyn loved to travel, she and Victor visited several places around the U.S. either pulling the camper, taking a bus tour or on a cruise with friends. She was also an active and dedicated member of the Winnwood Baptist Church throughout her life, she sang in the choir, and often participated in various types of activities and charities associated with the Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred T. & Mary E. (Bremerkamp) Wolverton; siblings, Wanda L. (Robert) Black, Richard A. (Joyce) Wolverton, and Donald P. Wolverton.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Victor Lowe; children, Marla, Terry (Kimberly), David (Rhonda), Eric (Sandy); grandchildren, Jarrett, Thomas (Carter), Joshua (Brianna), Samantha, Kristen, and Abigail; great grandson, Elijah; Brother, F. Stephen Wolverton; and Sister-Law, Marcella Wolverton.
