Pickens, SC – Mr. Doyle Cantrell, age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 23, 2021. Mr. Cantrell was born in Pickens County, South Carolina and was the son of the late Seth D. Cantrell and Mellanee Holder Cantrell. He was a loving husband to Betty Ruth Cantrell.
Survivors include his wife Betty Ruth Cantrell from Pickens South Carolina and a son Stan Cantrell (Gaye) from Powdersville, South Carolina. Surviving are four grandchildren Crystal and Channing Cantrell and Eric and Amy Patterson. Also surviving are three loving and precious great grandchildren.
Mr. Cantrell was predeceased by his first wife Emmie Mae Cantrell, a son Dean Cantrell, a daughter Cynthia Carol Galloway and a number of brothers and a sister. Mr. Cantrell was the last of his siblings.
Mr. Cantrell served in the United States Army during WWII, was a sharpshooter and a Private First Class at Honorable Discharge. He worked the majority of his career at Poinsett Plant, Abney Mills as a Slasher Room Foreman. He was a Mason and Shriner. He loved to garden and adored family. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
A service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM located at 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
