Mrs. Carns was born August 2, 1924 in Grampian, the daughter of Joseph Sr. and Mary (Ritz) Rancik.
Carolyn was a Homemaker, and formerly worked at the Ritz Grille in Clearfield.
She was a member of the Mt. Joy United Methodist Church where she had taught Bible School.
Carolyn is survived by her four children; David A. Carns and his wife Janet L., Sally A. Wilson and her husband Robert J., Sue A. Straw and her husband Tom and Jeffrey L. Carns and his wife Susan all of Clearfield. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, three siblings; Joseph Rancik, Jr., of Grampian, James R. Rancik of Curwensville and Mona Jean Wood of Grampian and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carns was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ashley Lyle Carns whom she married June 26, 1946 and who passed away October 8, 2004, a great grandson, Tyler David Carns, two brothers; William F. Rancik and Thomas Rancik and a sister, Geraldine Mohney.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until the hour of services.
