Since 1964, everyone has called him by the nickname, Willie, bestowed upon him when he joined the Greensboro Fire Department. He retired as Captain, from station #7 in 1996 after 32 years of service to the city of Greensboro. Willie loved and served his Lord, church, family, friends and city. After retirement, he enjoyed golfing, traveling and the beach. Willie always found the positive in every situation, had a heart for helping others and a gift for making everyone feel comfortable with good conversation and an accepting attitude. He loved life and is now in the arms of Jesus forever.
