She was given life by her creator and was born to Ada and John Werner in Suttons Bay, MI on February 23, 1943; In that same month she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. In May of 1958, she publicly confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and was confirmed receiving the precious gift of the Lord’s Life-giving body and blood. On August 18, 1963, she received the gift of a beloved companion in her spouse, Richard Rath. She was blessed with the gift of children, son Timothy Allen Rath, daughter Deborah Lynn Sadler and son Matthew Mark Rath. She is survived by her spouse, her children, her grandchildren, Brianna Mykensie Rath, Grace Emma Sadler, Stephanie Miara Rath, and Mark Fredrick Thomas Rath, and her great grandchild Hazel Nova Greene.
God blessed Johanna’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. She took special joy from serving with the Gideons International in the distribution and placement of God’s Word locally and world-wide. Finally, on June 7, 2021 at 9:06 PM, MST, at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Presccott, AZ, God blessed Johanna with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.
