Elsie is survived by her sister; Elenor Brown; children; James L. Wages, Donna Burek, Bernadina Mickey; and grandchildren; Lynnette Garcia, James Wages, Jordyn Mickey, Jensen Mickey. She is predeceased by her husband Elric Swan Friberg.
Elsie was born in Longmont Colorado on Feb 12, 1941 to Juan Munoz and Nativida Damian. Elsie's early life was not easy. She was a hard worker and on her own by age 16, working to support her and her younger sister and all the responsibilities that came with that.
She met the love of her life, Elric, while working at Luby's cafeteria. He was a handsome military man stationed at Biggs Field, her a beautiful young woman. They loved to dance to big band music. They married on January 20th 1967. They made their home in El Paso and lived in the same home where they raised their children until present. Elsie sold Avon, and worked at Sears for 20+ years when she retired.
Elsie loved the home she shared with Elric. She loved to garden - and took extreme pride in her Amaryllis, Lantana and Bird of Paradise that decorated her yard. She loved her family deeply and took every opportunity to tell anyone about her beloved Elric, children and grandkids. She was loved by her friends and neighbors - never meeting a stranger and treating everyone with kindness and respect.
Her bright light will be missed by all who knew her, but she can now rest in peace with her beloved Elric whom she missed beyond words after his passing in 2008.
A simple graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 12pm at Evergreen East Cemetery 12400 Montana.
