Monica Lee Head, age 64, of Pinckney, died Monday, October 4, 2021, at her home. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Michael Head; her two sons: Reace Head, and Chans Head; her sister, Laura (Robert) D’Angelo; her father, Raymond Schilinske; her sister-in-law, Cindy (Tom) Tatu; her parents-in-law, Ransom (Patricia) Head; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.
Monica was born June 6, 1957, in Detroit, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Raymond and Grace (Insalaco) Schilinske. She met Michael Head on a blind date at the Farmington Farmer’s Festival in July of 1990, and it was love at first sight! Shortly after, they began dating, fell in love, and were married on April 6, 1991. Monica worked as the head of operations at Motion Control Shop from 2007 until her retirement in 2020. Strong in her catholic faith, Monica was a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pinckney for thirty years, and during that time became very involved volunteering at St. Mary’s Catholic School. In her free time, she could always be found spending time outdoors; she loved to go for boat rides on the chain of lakes whenever she could. She and Michael also shared fond memories of their travels to Europe together.
She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.
Monica was preeded in death by her mother, Grace Schilinske; and her brother, Phillip Schilinske.
In accordance with Monica’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Monica’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Rev. Fr. Dan Kogut will officiate. Monica will be inurned at Milford Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
