She was born May 11, 1924 in Bangueda, Abra Philippines to the late Laureano and Josefa Mendez Valera.
Mrs. Bustamante was a retired school teacher in the Philippines and a former resident of Daly City, California and Decatur, Alabama.
She was a parishioner at OLPH Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donato Bustamante; daughter, Estrellita Valera Tuazon; and brothers, Demetrio, Francisco, Ruben, and Eustaquio Valera.
Survivors include her daughter, Heidi (Cesar O.) Pascua; son, Rodel V. Bustamante; grandchildren, Oliver (Emily) Pascua, Janine P. (Andrew) Howard, Laura A. (Bryant) Henton, Ardeine (Nessa) Bustamante, and Samantha Bustamante; great-grandchildren, Alex & Cal Pascua, Olivia & Jax Howard, Cam & Ava Henton, A. R. Bustamante, and Liam & Logan; other grandchildren, great-grandchildren from the Philippines; sister, Soledad V. Balbuena from the Philippines; nieces & nephews from the Philippines, California and all over the world.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at OLPH Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating.
Interment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
