John Edward Rozman, 90, passed away with fighting stubbornness at home on Thursday, January 2, 2020. He had planned to live to 100 years old. "See you in 10 years!" he told the Funeral Director at Bayview two months ago when Christa, his wife of 65 years, passed.
He was a resident of Pensacola and member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church since 1978.
Born in Brookfield, OH on August 7, 1929, John learned the trade of TV Repair and had a small business with his brother, Joseph, "Benny" Rozman in Sharon, PA in the 1950s.
He was an Army veteran during the Korean War but lucky in life when he was stationed in Germany instead of Korea and lucky in love when he met his future wife, Christa.
He lived in Hubbard, OH for many years and worked at PanelMatic, Inc. in Youngstown, OH making lifelong friends.
John is survived by his three children: Glenn (Leanne), Christine, and Peggy. Five grandchildren: Stephanie Ketnick, Benjamin (Kyra) Ketnick, Kell (Jessica) Rozman, Paul (Candace) Rozman, and Lisa Rozman. Three great-grandsons complete this loving family: Jackson and Asher Ketnick, and newest arrival Sebastian Rozman.
A recent reunion with cousins Sandi and Cookie from Alabama made John feel a joy he had not felt since Christa died.
John really appreciated all his neighbors and church family looking out for him.
Special thanks and gratitude to Covenant Hospice: Hannah RN, Katie APRN, and techs: Dee and Jan.
His mind stayed sharp but his body could not keep up.
Funeral service will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, FL on Friday, January 10, 2020 with visitation from 1:30-2:00 followed by a service at 2 pm with Reverend Franklin Gore officiating.
BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be offered at www.bayviewfisher-pouchapel.com.
