He graduated from Dublin High School in 1969. He was an entrepreneur who had a mobile check-cashing business and several car lots including his last one, Kool Cars, in Plain City, OH. There he sold used cars, ran a salvage yard and towing service, and painted and detailed cars. Larry loved working on cars, participating in Mid-Ohio Cruisers and NSRA (National Street Rod Association), sharing time with his many friends, playing euchre at the VFW, and playing bocce as a longtime member at the Abruzzi Club. He retired after more than 35 years and moved to Arizona where he continued his love of cars and joined the meet up group ‘Thirty-nine and Holding’ where he met his wife, Darlene Woodcock. Together they found happiness in dancing, traveling, and shopping at thrift stores and yard sales. He became quite the plant-lover and chef. His favorite dishes were spaghetti and meatballs, wedding soup and anything on the grill.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; the daughter he loved who was from his first marriage, Nicole (Adam) Downing; his dearly loved grandson, Daniel Nelson; sisters Donna (Bill) Durrant and Beverly Bucher; his former wife, Linda Carrocce; many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
