Frances Grill Smith

She was born on November 18, 1931 to Alvin and Myrtle Grill. Frances had four children and worked for the IRS for 29 years. Frances lived in Austin until 1985 and then moved to Wimberley for the last 35 years.

After graduating high school at the age of 16, she attended the University of Texas. While there, she won numerous swimming and diving competition medals with the UT Swim Team and was an avid athlete in all sports. Throughout her life Frances was known for baking the best chocolate pies, her love of travelling and being an enthusiastic Bridge and 42 player. Although she kept herself busy nothing brought her more joy than her family and being able to see them accomplish so much.

Frances’ memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 70 years, Ivan Earl Smith Jr., her children Kathryn Ann Raynie, Pamela Sue Lackey and son-in-law Edward Lackey, Donald Ivan Smith, Ronald Earl Smith and daughter-in-law Sue Staton Smith, her 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren as well as many other family members and countless friends.
