Mitch was born on November 1, 1956 in Wiesbaden, Germany, son of the late Harry W. Mitchell and Ingeborg Dietz.
Mitch was kind hearted, friendly and a generous man who loved his family first and foremost. He never met a stranger, and would offer a helping hand to anyone. Mitch was an avid sports fan, loved to play golf, attend NASCAR races, and spending time laughing with his beloved friends. Mitch’s smile will continue to light up lives forever. Mitch’s passion to help others didn’t come up short with his career, he served as a conduit to protecting families when it mattered most, in a time of need.
Mitch is preceded in death by his son, Chad.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-four years, Mary Grant Mitchell; son, J.C. (Karissa) Mitchell; grandsons, Cody, Carter and Jack Mitchell; brothers, William (Lynn) Mitchell, James (Karen) Mitchell and Joe (Becky) Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; his beloved dogs, Maxine and Millie.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 12th of September, 2020 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home.
