Vernon J. Reeves was born on August 21, 1930 to Vernon T. Reeves and Catherine Murray in Yonkers, NY. He married Theresa H. Reeves on June 6, 1953 in St. Mary’s Church she survives. He has two devoted sons Kevin J. Reeves and Scott G. Reeves. Three grandchildren whom he adored, Shelby T. Reeves, Mathew Reeves and Amanda N. Reeves, two Daughters-In-Law Carla and Laura whom he loved. A sister Katherine Page and a brother William Reeves pre-deceased him. Also, he had many nephews & nieces whom he kept in touch with. He attended Gorton and Saunders Trade School. In 1949, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Kiowa until he was honorably discharged in 1953. He was a parishioner in Christ the King Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Local 3 Electricians. He was employed with Con Edison for many years and later with General Motors from which he retired as an electrician; Vernon enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as crafts hunting, fishing and carpentry. He had a great sense of humor and some remembered him as Jim Reeves. He passed away on New Year’s Eve 12-31-2020

Visitation will be on Thursday December 7th from 10am to 12 pm. A prayer service will be at 12pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
