He was the son of the late Thomas P. Kennedy, Sr. & Regina M. Kennedy, of Hyannisport, MA. Tom is survived by his adoring family. His sons, Thomas P. Kennedy, III of San Jose, CA; Michael J. Kennedy and daughter-in-law Stephanie Blackwell Kennedy, his grandchildren Rebecca, Michael Jr., Isabella, and Bailey, all from Benton, ME. Tom is also survived by his loving sisters and brother, Karen Kennedy-Cannone and husband Giovanni of Kings Park, NY; Gina Kennedy-Doherty and husband Alan; Kerry Kennedy-Murphy and husband John; John F. Kennedy and wife Stacey, all from Marstons Mills, MA. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who all thought the world of him.
A modern-day Renaissance man, Tom seemed to squeeze more life, careers and adventure into his 68 years than most people. He enlisted in the Army at 18 during the Viet Nam war, attended the University of Minnesota and Nassau Community College, became a baker, an engineer, and built a flooring installation business with his sons. He even joined the seminary to become a priest for a time, but ultimately felt his best way to serve was to start his own family. Later, he purchased a farm in Maine for himself, his children and grandchildren to farm the land and raise livestock. All in 68 years!
There was nothing Tom loved more than his children and grandchildren, spending all of his time with them. He also enjoyed living in New York, Minnesota, Colorado, Cape Cod and travelling to Ireland. He brought pure joy, kindness and love along with him wherever he went. There will not be another like Tom and he will never be forgotten.
