Mama, I can't believe 2 years have gone by. So much has happened all around us since you left. I still get the urge to call you to tell you how I feel and check up on you. I guess that feeling of needing you is always going to be there. So please know you are loved more and more each day and by far never forgotten. I miss you so much Mama rest in heavenly peace.

You were the coolest, tia. I will miss seeing you at all the get togethers and will miss even more the sly looks and smirks we shared together on the side. You always made me laugh and there was never a dull moment with you tia; you were SO funny.  I’m very grateful for the time I spent with you and this world so blessed to have had you for 80 years! Love you tia. 

Mama, this probably the hardest thing I ever had to do is say goodbye. To a Mother who carried me for 9 months birthed me and loved me unconditionally had my back when I  needed you in rough times. Reassured me that everything would be okay. You always had a way of  making me feel safe, loved and needed. To all the  wonderful memories we had together that you made possible. My childhood was happy the little details, sacrifices at that time I had no idea that you always put us first. You supported me in everything I wanted to do Brownies, Girl Scouts, school plays, cheerleading just to name a few. The countless hours you stayed up late at night sewing costumes and uniforms. How can I ever repay you? As an adult the memories were even better. The concerts, parties, our long morning talks, shopping,  Loteria nights. These are the memories that I will treasure.  I loved to make.you laugh and see your beautiful smile your eyes lit up the room. I wish you were still here with me but you had to leave to heaven your time here has ended. No more pain  or suffering.  You never complained, you handled every obstacle with courage and without any fuss. You were truly amazing and will forever remain in my heart  I  love you my Petunia my flower in the sky. Please watch over me and my family until we meet again. I'm going to miss you terribly, Love Kathy. 

As a teacher for many years in Phoenix Elementary #1, each interaction with Carmen was truly a pleasure.  Her smiling face and warm friendly presence let you know she cared about her responsibility to her school community and staff. 
She was extremely efficient, gracious, kind and a real pleasure to work with.
Peace and All Good to all her family, friends and colleagues.

Tia there are so many moments I remember and cherish each one of them. The most remembered is just recently when I called you on your birthday this past year. We talked a lot about how you were doing and what you were going through. You told me how proud you were of me raising my boys by myself with Julian and no other family. You did let me know how much you wanted to see me but understood what I was going through. I love you Tia and I will miss you so much. Please give my Granny a hug and tell her how much I miss her. Carmen is survived by her son, Jerry, daughters Kathy (Oscar) and Veronica (Freddie) 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Carmen is also survived by her brothers Arthur Lugo, Ray Lugo, Jose Lugo, and sister Lupita Flores. Along with countless nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
