He was born June 17, 1949 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to Rev. William Otto and Geraldine Mae (Forry) Bosserman. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are three siblings, James (Sandra) Bosserman of Batavia, Carole (Bill) Reber of East Peoria, and Rick (Sharon) Bosserman of Lewistown; four nieces and nephews, Tammy (Carl) Cerny of Geneva, Tim (Ginnie) Reber of Bloomington, Jay (Tara) Bosserman of Aurora, and Ian (Nikki) Bosserman of Mackinaw; and many great nieces and nephews, as well as his two beloved dogs, Daisy and Shadow.
David was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War. He also served in the United States Navy where he worked as a scuba and hardhat diver.
He worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring with over 20 years of service.
David, a jack-of-all-trades, enjoyed woodworking and graphic design. He made graphic and vinyl designs that many businesses around town still use. He loved to ride his motorcycle and enjoyed doing bodywork on cars. He also liked to macramé and made over 1,000 crosses during covid, he took joy in handing them out to people and seeing the happiness it brought them.
He also enjoyed music and liked writing songs and playing his guitar at church. He liked playing in dartball tournaments and lifting weights. He even got to meet and lift weights with Hulk Hogan at the Landmark in Peoria.
He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A gathering celebrating David’s life will be Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Peoria Church of the Brethren.
