She was born October 31, 1933 in Atkinson, IL to the late William M. & Bethene E. Painter.
Sue was passionate about dog rescue and was a former member and current supporter of SHARP in Polk County. She fostered and adopted several rescued dogs over her lifetime.
Sue was the former Substation Manager for the St. Petersburg Times in St. Petersburg, FL.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Albert Gruhl and Joe Navratil; and sister, Patty Jo Gorden.
Survivors include her children, Cari (Jim, Jr.) Bosserdet of Old Fort, TN; Barry (Debbie) Gruhl of Moline, IL; Cathy Ashenfelter of Clearwater, FL; sister, Christine Pauley of Milan, IL; grandchildren, Catlin Ashenfelter, Brittany Anderson, Maggie (Eli) Larimore, Bo Bosserdet, and Jenna Bosserdet; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Xaiden, & Kinleigh Larimore; and several nieces and nephews.
