Marian E. Marovich, 93, of Titusville, peacefully departed this Earthly existence after a short stay in her daughter's home, on June 8, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George R. Marovich, her son, Joel R. Marovich, her parents Edward and Ella B. Rung and her brothers, Dale and Jim Rung.
She is survived by her three children: Paul J. Marovich (Pam), Charlotte, NC; Mark E. Marovich (Pat), Titusville and Lisa Marovich Cullen (Jay) of Port St. John. Her six grandchildren live in FL, NC and OR. She has nine great grandchildren, with one on the way.
Born and raised on a small dairy farm in Union Township, Crawford County, Meadville PA, she earned her high school degree in a one room schoolhouse. Marian met her future husband, while working in a local Westinghouse factory.
They eloped and were married in Virginia in 1948. They lived with her in-laws for a year, before buying a small home in Meadville. The three boys were born in Meadville.
Her life, and her family, changed when they moved to Titusville, FL in 1958. George worked for Lockheed Martin on Cape Canaveral, and in 1962, they welcomed a daughter.
In 1967, their lives were changed again when George was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which, over time, rendered him a quadriplegic. Marian was a devoted full-time caregiver to George until his passing in 1997.
Her life was shaken in 1979 by the sudden passing of her third child, Joel, while serving in the US Navy at the Naval Station Rota, Spain.
Her pride and joy were her family and circle of friends. Over the years, her care giving life expanded to include two of her grandchildren. Her love of outdoor plants, especially red ruffle azaleas, were displayed in her nearly perfect maintained yard.
She used a phrase as she got older: "I think not", which was her polite way of saying no. She was known for her homemade applesauce, her perfectly coiffed white hair, her salt first-then taste method and her love of Hersey's Kisses and York Peppermint Patties. She was a quiet, unrecognized pioneer for grandparent's rights before the term was coined. She took on this responsibility with pride, care, and meticulous detail.
She was a member of Titusville's First Presbyterian Church and in 2001, Park Avenue Baptist Church.
Brevard Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family and is located at 5475 N US 1, Cocoa, Florida 32927. 321-636-3720.
Saturday, 6/19/21, visitation from 9:30-10:30AM, service at 10:30-11:15. The family requests that purple or blue is worn, Marian's favorite colors. In lieu of flowers, she requested that memorials be made to Park Avenue Baptist Church Children's Ministry or to St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care.
