Ann went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2020, in Garland, Texas.
In 1954, at age 13, Ann married Ruben “Lester” Swinford. They had three sons, Darren Lee,
Derril Wayne and Dewayne Lee.
Ann was a Hairdresser for many years and then worked in clock repair for Rosett & Motes.
God called Ann and Lester to Music Evangelism in the early 70s. They traveled throughout the South East United States ministering in churches, State Prisons and jails. Ann was the first woman allowed to go into Angola State Prison in Louisiana to minister through song. She also made four Gospel albums during their ministry time.
After, the Love of Her Life, Lester passed away she went back to school, earning her Certification as a Scrub Tech. She was a Scrub Tech at Medical City Dallas. She then became the Insurance Billing Coordinator at Baylor OB/Gyn and Associates of Garland, from where she retired.
Ann was preceded in death by: Her Husband Lester Swinford, Parents Mozelle & Johnny Smith, Brother Eddie Smith, and Sister Wynona Watley. Other Sister and Brother-In-Laws and family members.
Ann is survived by: Sons Darren Swinford & wife Elizabeth of Staten Island, New York, Derril Swinford & wife Vickie of Garland, Texas, Dewayne Swinford & wife Cindy of Providence Village, Texas.
Brother Mike Smith & wife Verna of Van, Texas. Sister-In-Law Jan Smith of Mesquite, Texas.
Grandchildren: Christy Swinford, Elizabeth & Jared Martin, Karianne Roberts, Joche & Jamie Santiago, Yanessa Santiago, Jessica & Shane McCormic, Traeh Whittington, Colin & Meagan Coats, Casey Coats, and two other Grand Daughters.
Great Grandchildren: Caylop Patrick, Cameron & Carter Martin, Alyssa Swinford, Dixie Roberts, Jason Santiago, Kaiden Berry, Andrew & Destiny McCormic, Karter Coats and 4 other Great Grandchildren.
A host of other Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, and other family members.
