History

Jerrett Funeral Homes - St. Clair ChapelThe legacy of Jerrett Funeral Homes is rooted in a deep commitment to service, dating back to the mid-1930s. Jack Jerrett, driven by a desire to support families in their times of need, embarked on his journey at Speers Funeral Home. By 18, he earned his funeral director’s license, and at 23, Jack became one of the youngest in the field to own a chapel, acquiring the Nash Funeral Home in Toronto.

The vision of a family united in purpose was at the heart of Jack's dream, and the early success of the funeral chapel was a testament to this shared dedication. Jack's parents, John and Alice, demonstrated their support by selling their home and trucking business to stand by his side. The legacy of service was further strengthened when Frances Pauline Fritz, one of Canada's pioneering licensed female funeral directors, joined the family after marrying Jack in 1939. With a foundation rooted in passion and commitment, the business flourished. Today, we are honored to be a part of the Dignity Memorial network.
