Amarjit Singh Sidhu was born December 15, 1937 in the city of Rangoon, Burma to Late Udha Singh Sidhu and Late Harnam Kaur Sidhu. His family then moved to Ludhiana, India, where he spent many years in school. He has two brothers and two sisters which have already passed.
In 1959 Amarjit S. married Harjit K. in the village of Kishangarh Channa, Punjab. Here they started their family of two sons (Harinder S. & Jagdev S.) and four daughters (Varinder K., Harwinder K., Late Malwinder K., Gurjinder K.).
In 1960 he picked Policing as a career as he had the passion of devoting his time to helping those around him. He was also an Accountant for a few years alongside his father.
He retired in 1995 and immigrated to Canada in June, 1995 along with his family.
Amarjit Singh was a spiritual person who was always willing to help anyone in need. He volunteered the last 15 years of his life at the Khalsa Diwan Society Sikh Temple in Abbotsford.
Amarjit Singh breathed his last breath on March 27, 2012. He is survived by his two sons, 3 daughters, and 13 grandchildren. He will be missed by those near and dear to him.
