Dan was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, to Sandra (McDonald) and Carl George, on November 16th, 1979. When he was 3, his family moved to Thetis Island for a year, and then on to Vancouver Island, where he grew up.
In 2000, Daniel graduated from GP Vanier High School, and in 2000, attended Faith Mission Bible College in Scotland, where he met his wife-to-be, Hyun Jung (Lee). They married on July 10th, 2004, and had three boys, Aiden (14), Isaac (11) and Nathaniel (6). They lived the majority of their marriage in the Comox Valley, until their most recent move to Abbotsford.
Daniel spent his life outdoors, enjoying nature and the ocean, but so much more than that, was his love for God. Anyone that spent any time with Dan could see the passion burning in his heart for his beloved Jesus. It's hard to sum up a person's life in just a few sentences, but if I was to sum up his, I would say that Daniel lived his life, he didn’t waste it. He loved big, and he loved deep. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed and wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. He was an adventurer, explorer, treasure hunter, an incredibly hard worker, provider, friend, cousin, son, brother, husband, and the best father I have ever seen. To say that he is missed is an understatement. But, beyond the sting of death, is the hope of seeing him again, as he is now face to face with Jesus.
Daniel was very talented man with many skills. He was a faller, commercial fisherman, heavy duty truck driver, milwriter, youth pastor and most recent job he was a Canadian Coast Guard.
Daniel is preceded in death by his mom, Sandy George, and his grandparents, Don McDonald, Viola McDonald, Purvis and Lillian George.
He is survived by his wife Jung and their three boys (Aidan, Isaac, and Nate), his sister Sharon and her husband Joshua, his dad Carl, father in law Soo Keun Lee, Mother in law Young Ae Sim, sister in law Eun Kyoung Lee, her husband Namwon Kim, Sister in law Hae kyoung Lee, her husband Hyung Jin Kim and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins on both sides.
A memorial service will be held at the Comox Valley Baptist Church, at 2pm, Saturday, April 30th. Please come and join the celebration of his life.
