She is lovingly remembered by her 3 kids: Carlie (Warren), Paulyne, Frederick, two grandchildren, five siblings, extended family and friends. Everyone fondly called Linda "Baba G".
She is predeceased by her father, Ernesto.
Erlinda was the eldest of six children born to Ernesto and Estella Fernandez, in the Philippines. She married Oscar Villarosa at the age of 19. They emigrated to Canada in February 1976, arriving in Vancouver. They found work as a live in housekeeper and groundskeeper for the Bentall family. Later that fall, Oscar and Linda brought their three kids to Canada.
After several moves, they settled in New Westminster. Oscar and Linda divorced a few years later. Linda moved to Abbotsford where she built a new house. She single handedly raised three children and sent them to private school, owned and operated Parkview Care home in New Westminster, worked as a Night Auditor at Comfort Inn and as a Province carrier in the last fifteen years.
Linda was generous, often lending money to friends. She always had interesting and unique life stories she shared with everyone she met: from almost becoming a nun to getting the Langley fire department change her flat tire by the side of the road. She was insistent on getting the family together by keeping our annual Harrison Hot Springs vacation for the past twenty years.
She will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be missed.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford BC on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025 at 10:00am. Refreshments to follow at St Ann's Church Hall. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 3789 Royal Oak Avenue Burnaby BC.
